ICD Gemini Comes with Loaded Feature List [Tablets]

There are people out there who are interested in a tablet computer, but refuse to buy the iPad on principle. Well, take a gander at ICD's Gemini, an 11.2-inch tablet that's got a damned impressive spec list.

With the 1GHz Tegra 2 SOC running the show, this thing should be able to handle 1080p video just fine. It's got a 3G connection that allows voice calls as well as 'a user-replaceable 40Wh battery, an SD card reader, FM radio, GPS, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, MicroUSB connectivity to PCs and USB peripherals, stereo speakers, and dual webcams.' Not much more you could ask for there. And the whole thing will run Android, so it's a reliable, supported OS rather than some slapdash interface or, worse, a desktop OS such as Windows.

Oh, and it runs Flash, if you're into that sort of thing. For now, it's just a prototype. No word on pricing or availability as of yet.

HP Slate flaunts Flash capability in a new video [HP]

That HP also has a Slate in stock for us is no secret especially since its debut at the CES back in January. However, with this new clip we are assured it will be capable of Flash and AIR. No doubt it is good sales point but still depends… Is it good enough bait for you to go for HP Slate instead of Apple’s iPad?

And as to this HP Windows 7 Slate commercial, it was released around the time of the CES. However, watching it now is more meaningful as you can see yourself amused by the reminiscence of it to the iPad’s commercial.

The Swiss Army SIM: SK Telecom Squeezes Storage, CPU and Android OS Onto One Card [Android]

This magic SIM card from SK Telecom is a long way off from being commercially viable. But so help me, when someone stuffs this much information into a single SIM, I'm going to stand up and take notice.

Packed into this protoype are a processor, memory, 1GB flash storage, and Android OS. That's enough to keep your entire mobile world into one SIM, making switching phones the simplest thing in the world. You could also use it to easily switch off information between your handset and your netbook.

Of course, it also means that losing your phone would come with its own additional host of problems. Though by the time this would actually be available, it's likely that all your most important stuff would be in the cloud anyway.

I'm looking at you, AT&T SIM in my phone. I'm looking at you with equal parts pity and regret.

The First USB 3.0 Flash Drive Is a Wide Load [Usb 3.0]

Super Talent's first USB 3.0 flash drive, is huge—about the same size as Corsair's Voyager, in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB sizes. It'll push those gigs of Zatoichi rips at 4.8Gbps, or about 10x faster than USB 2.0.
Of course, you need a computer running one of these motherboards or cards, since Intel's dragging ass on a standard it helped developed. And you might as well pick up one of these hard drives too, while you're at it. [Gizmodo via Register]

GPU-Accelerated Flash Player Provides Smooth HD Video, Arrives Next Month [Flash]

At last, here's a GPU-accelerated Flash player. That means two things: One, my laptop won't melt every time I run freaking Hulu. Two, since almost every Nvidia GPU is supported, even smartphones will be able to play HD Flash video.
Nvidia has been demonstrating builds of the GPU-accelerated Flash player around, and it's making an announcement on October 5. According to those who have seen it, it provides ultra-smooth high definition video playback, even on portable Tegra platforms.

Slick Looking Nokia Erdos OLED Concept Could Become Real Next Month [Rumor]

The Nokia Erdos concept, suspiciously not profiled at the recent Nokia World Expo, may be sexy enough—and more importantly have just enough tangible features—that a proper reveal next month is entirely within the realm of possibility.
Again, there's nothing concrete here beyond a fuzzy footage and a laundry list of completely believable specs listed in the video:
